Reclaimed wood is typically much older than its solid counterpart, often dating back to the 19th century. As a result, it's normal to expect some imperfections or structural kinks while working with it. On the other hand, virgin wood is typically much younger.

Stability and Durability Reclaimed wood is stronger and more resistant to climate than new wood. Much of the wood we use for our reclaimed products originally came from old growth trees in virgin growth forests.

Most times reclaimed wood is cheaper than new wood. However, there are no standard prices, and some reclaimed wood is more expensive than regular flooring materials.

As a design staple that has only grown thanks to the modern farmhouse look, reclaimed wood and its warming appeal will continue into 2024 and beyond as interior designers say they are finding new places and ways to use this sustainable feature.
